We are Amy and Alex Campbell, a husband-and-wife team whose journey has shaped the vision behind The Rooted Loft. Having children young while living in Michigan, Ohio, and Massachusetts, we’ve faced the challenges of affordable housing, economic instability, and the need for strong community support firsthand. Through these experiences, we’ve come to believe that sustainable, connected living is the key to fostering long-term stability and opportunity.

Our story began in 2004, when we met from opposite sides of a mid-sized urban area, attending separate schools yet sharing common values. By 2006, we had begun building our life together, navigating the challenges of young adulthood, education, and economic mobility. Through it all, we remained committed to lifelong learning, innovation, and community-driven solutions.

This passion led us to create The Rooted Loft—a space where farm-to-table living, modern housing, free education, and shared resources come together to redefine urban development.
